CNN —The Israeli military has renewed its fighting in northern Gaza where it previously claimed to have dismantled Hamas’ command structure. The Israeli military also began operating in the area of Zeitoun in central Gaza, as it continues its offensive in eastern Rafah and near the Rafah crossing with Egypt. “Israel’s strategy is not a good one,” said Danny Orbach, a military historian at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Others say the re-emergence of Hamas “pockets” is not unusual, and that the Israeli military will have to keep re-entering areas in Gaza until no more fighters emerge. “This process will happen again and again,” Amir Aviv, former deputy commander of the Gaza Division of Israel’s military, told CNN, until all “pockets of resistance” are removed.

The call came in around 4 p.m., while Adam Abo Sheriah was still at work in his pharmacy in New Jersey. On Friday, the European Union announced it’s opening an emergency maritime aid corridor from Cyprus to Gaza with allies including the US. The day prior, President Joe Biden announced the US Military is planning to build a temporary port along the Gaza coast to try to deliver much-needed humanitarian relief. In 2023, the nonprofit Islamic Relief raised more than $30 million in online donations during Ramadan, according to a spokesman for the organization. The charity, Human Appeal, has provided humanitarian relief in Gaza since 1991, according to Samina Taj, the organization’s associate director of communications. Since the start of the war in Gaza, Taj said their teams have mobilized to try to meet the desperate need for aid.

Ramouz’s caption on the post, dated Feb. 28, 2022, reads: “Assaulting a girl and launching stun grenades at those present in Damascus Gate”. The clip was featured and referenced in local news reports on Feb. 28, 2022, about clashes at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, where people had gathered to observe a Muslim holiday. Using satellite imagery on Google Maps, Reuters confirmed the location of the video to be Damascus Gate. A fake cover of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo featuring a fencing bout between Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan and Russian Anna Smirnova is circulating online. The cartoon cover portrays a disfigured and unsightly depiction of Kharlan refusing to shake hands with her opponent after an individual sabre bout. The magazine’s online archive also does not include any cover featuring the Ukrainian fencer (abo.charliehebdo.fr/). A cover of French magazine Charlie Hebdo dated June 23 is circulating online featuring a caricature of Zelenskiy, but it is fabricated. The alleged special issue number 1614 of the satirical magazine also has a reference to the Titan submersible. A search of the satirical magazine’s online archive does not reveal such a cover (abo.charliehebdo.fr/ ), nor does a search through the weekly magazine’s Twitter and Facebook accounts (twitter.com/Charlie_Hebdo_ ) (here ). The Charlie Hebdo issue number 1614 was published on June 28 and the cover features a caricature of Putin and Prigozhin (here ). The Charlie Hebdo magazine did not immediately respond to Reuters request for comment.

Federația internațională de fotbal poartă în prezent discuții privind crearea unei Ligi Mondiale, la care să participe cele mai importante cluburi de pe toate continentele, a dezvăluit egipteanul Hany Abo Rida, membru în Consiliul FIFA, informează cotidianul sportiv AS, notează AGERPRESLiga Mondială FIFA are în vedere reunirea câștigătorilor ligilor la nivel internațional. „Important este că FIFA și Confederația Africană de Fotbal (CAF), împreună cu toate confederațiile de pe celelalte continente discută pentru a organiza o Ligă Mondială, în care să trei sau patru echipe din Africa vor juca împotriva cluburilor de top din întreaga lume. Este o provocare uriașă, la care ne gândim să luăm parte în următorii doi ani”, a declarat Abo Rida pentru televiziunea egipteană. „Organizarea Super Ligii africane este doar o propunere, deoarece industria fotbalului este o problemă financiară importantă.
